The drum filter is constructed of stainless barrel
The drum filter is constructed of stainless barrel (AISI304 or AISI316). The frame is made from galvanized or stainless steel (AISI304 or AISI316). When used in fresh water, typically a barrel in AISI304 is used and the frame is made of galvanized steel. The drum filter is used to remove suspended material mechanically from the water.
Examples of use of drum filters include:
- Entrances to freshwater fish farms.
- Outflow from freshwater fish farms
- Wastewater treatment plants

For larger water volumes, drum filters are built together so that the desired capacity is achieved.
With normal water in a pond, the capacity is up to 15 mg TSS / litre (total suspended solids). In connection with setting up the drum filter, a by-pass must be installed at the same time, so that the drum filter is not overloaded if there is a power failure or the drum filter stops for some other reason.
